#11 - A shotgun to the face of the zombie Greens

Stop the Press takes a look at the latest death of the Greens after NSW local government elections and delves once more into trolldom.

The Focus Group questions how we value education, and just what constitutes a “detention centre”

Jacob Holman tells is what’s stuck in his craw.

We delve back into the Inbox of Doom.

Sorry, I spoke (wrote?) too soon.
Thanks for a great podcast, though!

Great podcast, the title really needs to be changed to "Dave gets angry" though. Fantastic nonetheless.

Australia's favourite rural podcast, Something Ranty! Being a rural person myself, I feel I am your constituency and lately feel quite ranty because at last Steve Gibbons is retiring and we can have a proper election now. We love a good pork-barrel race here in Bendigo :D

Enjoyed yesterday's podcast and your point about dressing up the pacific 'solution' as a way of improving the lives of pacific islanders is a good one, it is indeed nauseating particularly in light of the fact that your foreign minister refuses to engage with the pacific. But please don't refer to Nauru as a 'crappy little island', it is home to 10,000 people after all and it is because it is thought of that way that other countries such as Australia get away with their high handed attitudes there and elsewhere in our region.

I'm sorry to hear that the cackling levels were low this week, mostly replaced by sighs of frustration and horror :-(

Things will get better. They will.

*hug*

Fair point Tess, I shouldn't have been so glib. However, the fact remains that Nauru does have a range of economic and social issues of its own, which I suspect you are more knowledgable about than most of us, and dumping a load of vulnerable people there without the infrastructure or services to properly care for them is a recipe for disaster. That was the point I wanted to make but I should have done so without writing off a small nation that has already been screwed over by Australia more than once.

I am with you...and as I've said before it's always good to hear Pacific island issues getting coverage on your show...keep up the good work

Dave's voice this week actually fits the caricature at the top of the web page. Scary man.

Another great show, gents.

I am so hanging out to hear this week's "Oh, Cory ..." section.

Judging by Jeremy's current rantiness in other forums I get the impression it'll be a virtual gouging.

Hee hee. The podcast broke Dave.

Hilarious podcast as always. Can't wait to hear what you're going to say about Cory.
